Welcome to the CorE Holosite
Coron Enterprises <CorE>

"After the Alliance won its first decisive victory at the Battle of Yavin, some people started to believe we might actually stand a chance to win this war. It wasn't long though till the Empire's assault on Hoth put an abrupt end to these pretty dreams. With the loss of Echo base, the Alliance was once again struggling to survive. Desperate situations call for desperate measures, as they say, so we weren't too picky in these days when it came down to how to supply our forces."

Every day, billions of sentient beings all across the galaxy rely on the services of commercial freighters to supply them with goods not available in their home system. From battered tramp freighters to gigantic bulk-freighters, countless vessels travel along the trade routes to meet this demand. But with civil war raging among the stars and pirates running rampant unchecked, interstellar space travel is becoming more dangerous by the day.

In a market segment where numerous independent freighter crews compete for business with huge interstellar trading companies, where only the bold and the desperate dare to put their ships and crews at risk, where only the best remain, Coron Enterprises stands out among its competitors. With ships like the legendary Spinning Cloud and crews surpassing Imperial Navy standards, Coron Enterprises has gained a fierce reputation and a track record to match.

Binary Pulsar Corporation, Effacktive Industries, Tatooine Trading Corporation, Halephax Ammunitions and the Intergalactic Mining Corporation are just some of the more notable companies that have employed the services of Coron Enterprises in the past.

"When you need a cargo delivered and time is of essence, when a lot is at stake and the task at hand challenging, when the odds are against you and you simply cannot afford to take chances with just any tramp freighter crew – contact Coron Enterprises. We get the job done. Always."

Coron Enterprises was one of our more successful sources of income really. Old man Coron ran his shipping company with a firm but loving hand. With his daughter and son in law working for him, it was pretty much a family business anyway, but he really treated all of us as if we were his children, annoying as it could get at times. "No illicit activities", he'd say, though I am not too sure if "illicit" was really part of his vocabulary. "Stick to the law and don't give the bloody bastards an excuse to shut us down". Those were is words, and that's what we did. For the most part, at least. As it turned out, we were able to generate a decent cashflow just by hauling freight around, though admittedly in order to do so, we had to take on jobs too risky for our competitors. But we did come out ahead; most of the time, at least.

Of course, it wasn't all just about the credits. The nice thing was that our freighters became such a common sight at most spaceports, that no one really asked too many questions about our reasons. We were in the shipping business, and that was usually good enough as an explanation. Even stormtroopers need to eat, and with a bureaucracy as bloated as Coruscant's, there was always demand for a civilian freighter's cargo hold worth of rations somewhere. So we got around a lot, and we kept our eyes and ears open, reporting our findings to our friends in the 118th, but sometimes, the old man preferred to take matters into his own hands.

Coron's Corsairs? I had never heard about them till I met captain Coron at a staff meeting on Coruscant, a year after we had taken it back from the Empire. Though apparently they had never managed to distinguish themselves among the myriad of other SpecOps units during the war, I found the idea of a commando team with piloting abilities intriguing. I am pretty sure that I mentioned this concept to general Cracken at some point, though whether this has influenced his decision to yank Wraith squadron out of Starfighter Command and make them a SpecOps unit, I couldn't say.

Till the end, we had employees who had no clue about what was going on behind the scenes. I believe some of them were even followers of Palpatine's New Order humbug. Only those who had proven their loyalty and reliability got involved in the shadier side of the company. While our fleet of freighters drained a lot of our cashflow, and most of what was left went into the coffers of the 118th, the old man diverted enough funds to run his own personal commando team, the Corsairs. From personal weaponry to starfighters, we had it all. At some point, we even got our own gunship, the Defiance. I m not sure how the captain ended up with it, but we all suspected that Anishor must have had his mighty paws involved behind the scenes.

In order to become a Corsair, people had to prove themselves first. Brains were important of course, as were the plenitude of necessary commando skills, but most decisive was one's loyalty and reliability. As with  most things, the old man had his own way to figure out who was good enough for the Corsairs, though I have to admit it worked surprisingly well. He only recruited amongst those who had proven themselves already in service to the crew during our shipping runs. Saving a fellow crewmember's life wasn't exactly the only way to get in, but it was a sure way to get on the captain's good side, as was downing a thug or vaping a TIE fighter when told to without asking questions.

Once in, you were part of the inner circle. That meant access to the Darkstar tactical facility and the Defiance as well as being called out of your bed in the middle of the night to go to some place you had never heard of before, to blow up some structure, rescue a princess or assassinate a moff. Sometimes, there was even beer.
